For those attending the City Reach weekend, as well as for those supporting the mission from Pembroke, now is the time we are preparing for the weekend of January 27/28, 2017. As you clean out your closets and dressers to make room for the new, please remember our homeless friends in Boston with your gently used donations of winter clothing, coats, hats, shirts, gloves, hoodies, sweaters, fleece and pants. We also need new men’s and women’s underwear, socks, bras, and undershirts, and small toiletries. One of the best donations you can provide to a homeless person is clean pair of warm socks. Of course, new clothing and coats are also welcome. In the past, clothing that has been quick to go and in high demand are fleece jackets and hoodies,
We will be collecting all of these items starting the second weekend in January, and once we have all the donations, we will be sorting them into bags to take in to Boston for the City Reach weekend, January 27/28. In addition, we will have Barefoot Sunday on Sunday, December 11th, and will be collecting new and gently used shoes and boots for adults, as well as new socks at that time.
It is not too late to register to attend the weekend. If you are interested, please let Karan Little, Sue Hussey, or Julie Bosworth know. The fee to attend this year is $70.00/person.
