March 1st marks the start of Lent.  Last year, we tried the 40 bag challenge.  Quite simply, the 40 bag challenge  calls for purging, tossing, recycling, a bag of clutter, excess, whatever, each day during Lent. (You get Sunday’s off!) What better way to have a meaningful, active, visual way to make changes this Lenten season, allowing ourselves to become happier, healthier and allow God the room to use us for greater service?

There is no size limit on the bag, box, or large item.  It is all good.  Pick a location in your home that needs some attention and just start!  Feel free to share your successes, before and after pictures or words of encouragement for others.  Who’s up for the challenge?

And if you’re wondering what to do with those no-longer-needed items? Once again this year the Maine and West Virginia work camps will be sponsoring a Savers fund raising collection at the church. Clothing of all kinds, shoes and boots, small household items, books and more. The date is yet to be confirmed but we are hoping for Saturday, April 29 from 9 to noon in the church parking lot. More information coming soon! And thank you so much in advance for your support!
