We are continuing to put out the basket for Helping Our Neighbors. The small amount we collected went directly to the United Church of Christ who has joined hands with fellow churches to help the disaster victims in Texas, Florida, California, and Puerto Rico. Time has passed but help is still needed. The United Church of Christ has been a tremendous help. Of the entire donations that has come in 100% goes toward disaster relief.

Pajama Clothes line

The Missions Committee is so pleased to represent all of you in this giving program. We are collecting pajamas for the children! We want everyone to know that we are giving pajamas to those who just need a helping hand, their budget is strained and pajamas maybe the last thing on their list so please take a zip bag from our clothes line or our basket. In the bag is the size that is needed for the child (monetary gifts are always welcome too).

This is for the children so they will be warm and cozy this winter. The last Sunday to collect pajamas is November 19. Pajamas will be given out to families the week of November 26.

Military basket

Twice a year we give our filled Military Basket to the Pembroke Military Support Group. In May we gave new items which went to the Military and the rest of the items collected went to the food pantry.

Articles requested for the Military are:

  • Hand and Foot Warmers
  • Lip Balm
  • Boxed Christmas Cards

The Military men and women would also like to have news from “Home” so if you would like to add a note or letter along with your donated items that would be awesome. The basket will be presented to the Pembroke Military Support Group on Veteran’s Day.

2Samuel Chapter 22 verses 2-4

On behalf of the Missions Committee we truly thank you for your support.
