Here we are starting our Fall and Winter Seasons.
Missions plans to set up our Pajama Clothesline the second week of October. Last year we collected 40 plus sets of pajamas for needy children in Pembroke and the surrounding towns. The Pajama Clothes Line is a wonderful way for us to collect the pajamas for the children. We will set the clothesline up in Fellowship Hall. Hanging on the clothes line are zip baggies. Each baggie contains a card telling you what sizes are needed for a girl or boy. Beginning the second week of October, please come by take a bag or maybe two and fill it with a new child’s pajama. We are helping to keep a child cozy and warm in the winter months with new pajamas! As always the Mission’s committee truly thanks you for your kindness and thoughtfulness toward others.
Missions will also setup our Military Basket. Twice a year we set our basket up, once on Memorial Day and then again on Veteran’s Day. The theme for our November basket is Holiday time – things the Military may like to receive from “Santa”. One of the top items that our Military personnel like to receive from First Church is Christmas cards and letters from the Sunday school children. An itemized list will be put in the church bulletin the second week of October for things needed to fill the basket. We would like our Military Basket all ready and filled to be given to the Pembroke Military Support Group by November 11th. Thank you to all from the Mission’s committee.
