In December, the Chancel Choir will be singing songs of Advent, anticipating the coming of Christ. On Christmas Eve, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus with anthems full of praise, elation and love while, as a congregation we sing some of our favorite carols. If you have been waiting for an opportunity to ‘try out’ singing with the choir, this is a great time to do so! We rehearse every Thursday evening 7:00-9:30pm, and Sunday mornings 9:15-9:45am just prior to our church service. Sight-reading is not required, and we provide practice CDs for each person’s part. Plus, we have fun!

This Christmas, we also welcome a chorus of children to sing one song with the Chancel Choir. The song is easy, and I will provide CDs or files to download to a phone or other tech gear. They will need to attend at least two rehearsals, and a brief warm up Christmas Eve, prior to our early service. The rehearsal times will be agreed upon by the participating families after I know who is singing. This is a terrific opportunity for your child to sing with a group of adults and children, and contribute to our church in a fun and meaningful way. Or make this something you do together – sign up to sing with your child.
