Jay and Jane asked for feedback on sermon styles to help the search committee in their permanent pastor search.
Personally, I prefer the style and topics delivered by Pastor Rick and Fred, and Pastor Matt later in his time with our church. I really enjoyed Pastor Fred’s sermon series on the Deadly Sins. I most connected to Fred and Rick’s sermons that spoke about human emotions, psychology, spiritual growth, and compassion, etc. These type of sermons connect very personally with me.
I don’t care for the “Geek out” sermons that take a deep dive into the scriptures and examine minute details, the type that Pastor Eric has been delivering and Pastor Matt delivered early in his time with First Church.
