Presents a Brief

Biography of the Proposed Pastor

The Reverend we are presenting was born and raised in Springfield MA .  It was there the Candidate was brought up in the local United Methodist Church, attended Sunday school, lead  the Youth Group, sang  in the choir, and served on various boards and committees.  Feeling the call to church ministry, our potential Pastor earned a Bachelor degree at Springfield College, Springfield MA, and a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology.

Earlier professional life as an Associate Pastor offered varied ministerial experience. Most satisfying was  overseeing and growing an active Sunday school; leading the Christian Education and the Youth programs; creating and implementing a town wide ecumenical Vacation Bible School; and leading youth mission trips.  Later, as a Senior pastor, the Nominee successfully increased membership and attendance, created and implemented  a successful Capital Campaign, created mission and outreach activities and established pastoral care connection groups, while also being active in local community activities and serving on regional and national Congregational committees.   The Candidate, affiliated with the NACCC for many years, served for eight years as a hospice Chaplain, working with a team of Nurses, Nurses Aides and other professionals  to bring comfort and dignity to the dying and their families.

Children – Ben (24),  Alison (22), Amanda (19).

Our Applicant loves to golf, sings in a local community chorale group, and plays softball in a church recreational league.  Also loves baseball but NOT a Red Sox fan (the Search Committee was relieved to know also NOT a Yankee fan).    Musical activities include formal voice lessons, community and Acapella choirs, and even an occasional karaoke night.
