First Church in Pembroke Weekly Happenings
December 01 – 07, 2024
We invite all to attend First Church in Pembroke for our
Communion Sunday Worship Service, which is incredibly significant for our community.
The 1st Sunday of Advent
By: Pastor Joy Matos
Be Thoughtful, Be Silent,
Be Reverent, for this is the House of the Lord.
Before the Service, Speak to God:
During the Service, let God Speak to you,
After the Service, speak to one another kindly.
This week, The Healey Family has lit the steeple and placed
flowers on the altar in memory of Scott Healey.
Today, we light the Candle of Hope
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isaiah 9:2 (KJV).
During the Christmas season, we at First Church will be collecting canned goods, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, etc., to donate to the Firehouse Pantry. Your generous contributions significantly impact those in need and are a source of pride for our community. The Deacons have placed a container in the front foyer for your convenience. Thank you in advance for your generosity. We have already delivered our Thanksgiving donations and will continue to collect for Christmas.
Mark your calendars for a special event at First Church in Pembroke Christmas Potluck Luncheon on December 15, 2024. This is not just a meal but a time to come together, Share in the season’s joy, and strengthen our bonds. Please see Bob in Fellowship Hall today after the service to sign up.
