Jean F. Altobello

Jean F. Altobello, 89, of Pembroke, devoted wife, loving mother, and passionate animal lover, passed away on December 6th, 2025.  

 

Jean, born in Needham, MA, in 1936 to the late Carlton B. Kimball and Gertrude E. Kimball (nee Morton), was a loving sister to the late Paul F. Kimball.  She graduated from Needham High School in 1954 and received a BA at Northeastern University in 1965.  

Jean married her late husband, Harold E. Altobello Sr., in 1965.  She was a waitress and a bookkeeper, and she also worked as a substitute teacher.  Jean was active at the First Church in Pembroke and helped out as a Sunday school teacher for several years.  Later in life, Jean volunteered to help elderly church members with their bills and at the First Church Thrift shop.  She was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts.  

 

Jean was a loving, caring wife and nurturing mother who was a very positive, outgoing person who made friends easily and loved to laugh, which was necessary to deal with her boys !  She loved animals and always had a dog, enjoyed walking, running, and staying physically fit.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the yard, going to the beach, researching family genealogy, and listening to music.

 

Jean is survived by her sons, Harold E. Altobello Jr. and his wife Erin (Reading, MA), and Dana M. Altobello and his wife Rachel (Marshfield, MA), and by her grandchildren, Samantha Altobello, Gregory Altobello and his wife Rebecca, Arianna Altobello, and Caden Altobello.

 

Visitation at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, on Friday, December 19th from 10-11 am, followed by a funeral service at First Church in Pembroke, 105 Center St, Pembroke, 11:30 am. Burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 pm
