“We are the Body of Christ”

By Pastor Joy Matos

Order Of Worship

1 Corinthians 12:12-20

SUMMARY:

Pastor Joy Matos’s sermon uses the central metaphor of the Church as the Body of Christ to deliver a powerful message of unity in diversity. The core teaching emphasizes that God intentionally brings together people with different backgrounds and skills to form a single, stronger spiritual organism. The sermon powerfully argues that every member is essential and valued by God, using illustrations of a carpenter’s tools and an injured toe to show how even the smallest or least visible parts are crucial for the body’s overall health and function. Transitioning from principle to practice, the message provides a clear call to action through the “PRAISE” framework, a practical process of prayer and self-examination designed to help individuals discover their unique role. However, the sermon culminates by stressing that this active participation is not the ultimate goal. The pastor concludes that all “doing” must flow from “being”; God desires a deep, personal relationship with each individual “first and foremost,” because that relationship is the only source from which true, meaningful, and kingdom-focused service can originate.
