The Calling of New Members

The minister will ask each new member to stand as their name is called. When finished, all shall come to the front.

The Confession of Faith

Minister: Dearly beloved, do you confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and make him your example and take for your rule of life his words: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And… thy neighbor as thyself.

New Members Response: We do.

The Covenant of Worship and Service

Minister: In the presence of God and these witnesses, do you give yourself unreservedly to his service and take this to be your church? Ever mindful of the welfare of your fellow members, do you promise to walk with them in faithfulness and Christian love? And do you promise that, so far as you can, you will attend the services of this church, observe its sacraments, share in its work, support, and benevolences, and endeavor to make it a fruitful body of Christians?

We, therefore, as the Church of Jesus Christ and members of His body, now welcome and receive you into the fellowship and communion of First Church in Pembroke. We promise to walk together with you in Christian love and unity to fulfill God s calling upon our lives as followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We pray that the blessing of our Lord may be upon you always. Amen.

The right hand of fellowship is to be extended by the Minister and Deacons.
