Every Sunday morning at 9:50, for a time of prayer in the sanctuary before the service. Everyone is encouraged to come.

 

For Fall Adult Alpha participants: The Holy Spirit series will be held on Sunday, January 4 & 11, 2026, after Fellowship. 

 

The Psalms : Starting Wednesday, January 7, at 7 pm, via Zoom. Instructions will be provided next week. You should start reading the devotionals on January 1. Register and purchase the devotional in the Fellowship Hall after church.

First Church in Pembroke is excited to announce the installation of Pastor Joy Matos on February 1, 2026. More details about this event will be shared soon, and we will need everyone s help!

 

For January, First Church invites everyone to support the Fire House Food Pantry. A donation box is in the foyer, and every contribution helps families in need in Pembroke and beyond. Thank you for your generous support it truly makes a difference.

 

FIRST CHURCH JANUARY 2026 MONTHLY MEETINGS:

 

Deacons: will meet on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Fellowship Hall after Sunday Service. Meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month.

 

Thrift Shop: will meet on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Thrift Shop at 1:00 pm. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month.

 

CNK Staff: will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Fellowship Hall. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month. CNK Board meeting TBD.

 

Trustees/Council: will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Fellowship Hall. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.

Missions: will meet on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Fellowship Hall after Sunday Service. Meetings are held on the fourth Sunday of each month.

 

2026 ONGOING INFORMATION :

 

The First Church in Pembroke Community Pancake Breakfast is not just an event but a cherished tradition we proudly uphold. It is a time for our community to unite, share a meal, and strengthen our bonds. Held on the first Saturday of each month, the next one is scheduled for January 3, 2026, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Remember, Pancake Breakfast is a year-round celebration, a testament to our unity and togetherness. 

 

Flowers for the Sanctuary: The 2025 Flower Signup Sheet is now available outside the Deacons’ Closet. Please don’t hesitate to contact Francine if you’d like to order flowers for the Sunday Service. Flowers are a heartfelt way to honor loved ones and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. The current price for flowers is $45.00.

 

Sunday Fellowship: Thank you to everyone who brought a food item or signed up to bring one. Store-bought items are also welcomed. Your generosity is appreciated. A signup sheet for this is in Fellowship Hall. 

 

Steeple Lighting: If you’d like to light the steeple or have the chimes played for a special occasion, such as a birthday, anniversary, or in memory of a loved one, don’t hesitate to get in touch with JoEllen Graham via the FCIP Facebook page. It’s a heartfelt way to celebrate or remember a special moment and share it with our community. The Steeple Lighting and playing of the Chimes beautifully symbolize our unity and support during meaningful life events. It’s a lovely way to share your happiness or comfort with the congregation.

Thrift Shop Hours: Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Help spread the word about Pembroke s hidden gem! The First Church in Pembroke s Thrift Shop will be closed on Fridays until further notice.
