“Faith with Deeds Rewarded”
by Pastor Joy Matos
SUMMARY:
The story of Rahab is a “walk the walk” example of what it looks like to trust God when things get difficult. Rahab was an outsider—a woman from a different culture with a reputation that most people looked down on. Yet, when she heard about what God was doing, she didn’t just think it was interesting; she risked her life to help God’s people. She chose to leave her old way of life behind and join God’s mission. For our church today, Rahab’s story reminds us that faith isn’t just about sitting in a pew and nodding along. It’s about being “available” to God. This might mean stepping into a new role at our upcoming annual meeting, or even more importantly, it might mean having the courage to step away from a role you’ve held for decades because God is leading you toward a new way to serve. Real faith shows up when we stop talking and start moving.
