Pembroke Resolves Celebration

December 28, 2023, marked the 251st Anniversary of the signing of the Pembroke Resolves. On this day in 1772, a group of 5 individuals signed a petition known henceforth as the "Pembroke Resolves" at the First Church in Pembroke. This document contained aggressive language against the British treatment of the colonies and was the first actual reference to possible separation from England. After the ceremony, the Pembroke Historical Society invites you to join them for refreshments and coffee, which will be at the PHS Building across the street from FCP.
Remember that the 2024 Offering Envelopes are available. They are located in the foyer area before you enter Fellowship Hall. If you have any questions, please see Francine.
First Church January Monthly Meetings; please join us
CNK Staff: will meet on Monday, January 08, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. CNK meets on the third Monday of each month.
Thrift Shop: will meet on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Thrift Shop at noon. Thrift Shop meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
Deacons: will meet on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Deacons meet on the second Sunday of each month.
Trustees: will meet on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Fellowship Hall at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Council meeting at 7:15 p.m. Trustees and the Council meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month. These meetings are available via Zoom. Please visit Firstchurchinpembroke.org for the Zoom link.
Missions: will meet on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Missions meet on the fourth Sunday of each month.
The Council is strongly suggesting that everyone join a committee. The First Church needs everyone’s help to make our Church the Beacon of Pembroke! Please consider joining a Committee! Nominations are coming. Please get in touch with the Nomination Committee or see one of our Chairs for more information.
Ongoing Information
FPC Community Pancake Breakfast is the first Saturday of each month. The next one is on February 03, 2024, 8 10 am in Fellowship Hall. Pancake Breakfast is year-round!
Flowers for the Sanctuary: The 2024 Flower Signup Sheet can be found outside the Deacons Closet. Please call the office and leave a message if you are interested in ordering flowers for a Sunday Service. Flowers are a beautiful way to remember a loved one and celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or any other special event.
Sunday Fellowship: Thank you to all who either brought a food item or signed up to bring one in. Please remember that these items can be store-bought. Your generosity is appreciated. A signup sheet for this is in Fellowship Hall.
First Church in Pembroke Steeple Lighting: If you would like to light the Steeple for any special occasion, you can contact JoEllen Graham via the FCIP Facebook page.
