“Grumbling, Bumbling, Stumbling…”
Sermon by:
Rev. Tom Coronite
SUMMARY:
This sermon draws parallels between the Israelites’ grumbling in the desert as described in Exodus and conflict within modern relationships and church communities. Reverend Coronite uses the biblical narrative of the people’s lack of trust in God’s provision to illustrate how subtle discontent and indirect communication, or triangulation, can be detrimental. Ultimately, the sermon emphasizes that grumbling indicates a failure to recognize Christ as the sustaining “Rock” and head of the church. Only Christ is the source of spiritual sustenance and unity, Rev. Coronite urges the congregation to trust in God amidst the Congregation’s own “deserts” and disagreements, particularly as they approach their annual meeting.
