“God’s Purpose Prevails“

Summary:
King Herod killed James with a sword. The people liked this, so he put Peter in jail too. He used many guards to keep Peter locked up. He planned to put Peter on trial after the holiday. While Peter was in jail, the church prayed to God for him. They did not stop praying. The night before the trial, an angel came into the cell. The chains fell off Peter’s arms. The angel led him past the guards and out of the heavy gate. Peter went to a house where his friends were praying. They were shocked to see him. The story ends with the king being punished while God’s word kept spreading.
