THE CANDLE OF PEACE – Lit by JoEllen

Jesus said to his disciples: My peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you, so let not your hearts be troubled nor let it be afraid. Lord, on this second Sunday of Advent we light the Candle of Peace. As a river flows peacefully and makes gentle gurgling sounds, and as the birds of the air roam and fly freely and peacefully through-out the universe, in like manner let peace prevail among the people of this earth once and for all. On this Sunday morning you have called us once again to reverence your name and to sit peacefully for a while from our noisy atmosphere. As we respond to this call, it is our wish that the entire world will soon come to the realization that You are the Prince of Peace and The Jehovah Shalom to all people.
