The congregational meeting at First Church in Pembroke, Massachusetts, on June 22, 2025, convened for the critical task of calling a new settled pastor. Prior to the vote, the moderator Jane Hodge expressed profound gratitude to the pastoral search committee for their dedicated efforts and confirmed that the necessary quorum of members was present for the proceedings...
You will be doing something much more spiritual. You will be discerning God’s will for this flock.
The task now before the search committee is that of discernment.
We plan to present some of the candidate’s biographical information as early as next Sunday.
At the May 9, 2021 meeting, some of the congregation had questions regarding the hiring process of FCIP pastor. We would like to walk the congregation through the hiring process of a pastor with First Church. All candidates who want to be considered for the part-time pastor position, including living in the parsonage, fill out

Since joining the NACCC, First Church has received six profiles and has subsequently interviewed four potential candidates
The search team posted the open pastor position at 25 seminary schools on the East Coast and the NACCC job board.
No applications received yet. The church profile and a cover letter was sent to schools with programs in ministry.
The Search Team welcomes back Pastor Matt and looks forward to a coordinated effort to find a settled pastor.
We hope the NACCC leads us to Candidates not seen from the UCC.
These are crazy times that we are living! It seems like this COVID separation has been going on forever.
The Search Team has not received any additional profiles from the UCC since this past Summer.

As you all are aware of Stewardship Sunday was November 24th a letter was sent asking the congregation to consider pledging a little more than they did last year and letting them know that in the last 6 weeks, pledges have decreased by $14,00.00. This equals a 17% drop in pledges. First Church in Pembroke
Search team met on August 12th to prepare for the next steps in the search process the following took place. Transition Team reactivated our profile, on August 1st the package is for a settled full-time pastor that will have to live in the parsonage.
